The best free NASM practice tests to start with are Trainer Academy's free NASM test, Fitness Mentors' free test (with more full-length tests if you join its free course), Mometrix's free NASM test, and CPT Compass's free 30-question NASM check, which explains every answer option. Trainer Academy and Fitness Mentors also sell fuller study programmes if you want guided prep. If you want more questions after the free check, CPT Compass's full bank costs $9.99 for 90 days across four certifications.

Compare the practice you will actually use
A free public test, a course you get after registering, and a paid question bank are different things. Look at three points:
- Explanations. After a wrong answer, do you learn why your choice was wrong?
- Navigation. Can you get back to the concepts you missed?
- Labelling. Is it clearly written for the current NASM CPT exam?
