ACE personal trainer practice exams: the official test and free options
If you want practice written by ACE itself, buy the ACE Practice Test (Version 3, untimed) from the ACE Store; it is the only option here that comes from the certifying body. For free practice before or alongside it, CPT Compass has a 30-question ACE check with an explanation for every answer option. Which to use when
Early in your study: start with the free check. It shows which areas need work without costing anything, and each explanation tells you why the other choices are wrong.
Closer to test day: the official ACE practice test is the one to take if you want ACE-authored questions in ACE's own format. Read the product page to confirm what it includes before you buy.
Keep the certification label straight. CPT Compass's 2,000-question total is split across NASM, ACE, ACSM and NSCA, 500 each, so only 500 are ACE questions. Similar training topics can also sit under different domains or terms in different programmes, so keep your revision notes labelled by certification.
